1) My area is Geo-everything. This deals with geo location. Two points can be used to track down the location of an object. Satellites are used. The more the satellites the more accurate the locating is done. Location aware devices are being used in various places as mentioned in one of my tagged articles. For example, in mobiles, in cameras etc. These location aware devices can be introduced in educational institutes that will use geo location positively. They will use the location devices for purposes that will benefit educational institutes. One mentioned benefit was that of tracking down students missing classes.

3) I have thought over in depth about my topic. My team has put in a lot of effort to build up our wiki which is still in process. We want to make it even better. I have put up some of the following on the wiki including my name and identity. Some of it needs to be thought over before putting it on. In my case my team members have already put up all the essentials so for me it will take some time to brain storm and add to the already vital information that is already up there. I have been brainstorming and will continue to do so. Below is also some of the information I have been brainstorming on:

GPS devices have become much cheaper and more available around the world. People are finding more uses for them.

Another obstacle location aware devices face is reliability. At times location aware devices are not reliable as they are unable to deliver reliable data. The correspondence of data with the real world could be inaccurate. This could lead to people losing trust in geo location. Just helping people remove their misunderstandings regarding geo location will be a major obstacle on its own.

Location aware devices can be used in educational institutes to keep track of the students and maybe even the faculty to ensure that everyone is at the right place at the right time. The company Wherify Wireless makes child location bracelets. In the same way such bracelets can be manufactured for educational institutes so that the students and faculty can be tracked down if needed to. The students can make use of these bracelets and so can the institute. For example, if a student needs to report to the office for some reason, geo location can be used to track down the pupil so that he/she can be found much more easily. As mentioned previously, it also helps reduce the chances of students missing classes as they will be aware that they are being tracked down. This way they will make more use of their time at school.
