With the introduction of the internet on the airplanes there could be many problems which can arise. As people will pull out there laptops, smartphones and PDAs with Wi-Fi enabled devices in order to use the internet on the plane; an increase in the radio wave emmission can result which can interefere with the airplanes navigation system. This can lead to airplane collisions in the air or air crashes therefore causing fatal accidents in the sky. On the contrary it is a source of entertainment for passengers who pay for the service and spend the flight time using the service. On the other hand the requirement of ID to log in on the Gogo system can raise questions on the issue of authenticity. Can a person’s ID and password be leaked causing unauthorized access to the system? According to K.C. Jones, in his article American Airlines Launches In-Flight Internet Service, who writes for the “Information Week”, sums up the introduction of this new system “The company launched the service Gogo, on Wednesday. Aircell, which obtained an exclusive frequency license from the Federal Communications Commision, will provide Wi-Fi in all cabins.” Is the introduction of this system worth it? Is the introduction of this system dangerous as it may lead to major air accidents? Is it okay to risk lives compared to introducing a system just for the sake of entertainment? Can the introduction of this system lead to other technical problems such as leading to the problems of authenticity? Is it okay to risk all this just for the sake of entertainment?
